Syracuse man crashed into street sign in Farmington, charged with aggravated DWI

Deputies say a 29-year-old Syracuse man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a minor accident in Ontario County.

The accident happened on Friday around 3:58 a.m. when Jarred Raymond Vryhoff, 29, of Syracuse was traveling on Route 96 in Farmington — and his vehicle left the roadway — crashing into a street sign at the County Road 8 intersection.

Vryhoff was placed under arrest and transported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a breath test. He was subsequently charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.

The charge will be answered at a late date.
