Sheriff: One recovering after snowmobile crash in Savannah

Deputies say a Rochester man is recovering after a snowmobile accident in Wayne County over the weekend.

The accident happened on Saturday around 3:20 p.m. when deputies responded to a reported snowmobile collision in a field east of Olmstead Road in Savannah.

Deputies say the operator, identified as Paul D. Meisenzahl, 48, suffered a lower leg injury after leaving the trail and colliding with an earth embankment.

He was transported by Eastern Wayne EMS to Newark Wayne Community Hospital for treatment.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on-scene by Savannah and Clyde fire departments.
