Newfield supports Its basketball teams

Somewhere along the long trip home from Delhi, the Newfield girls basketball team sat together at a Wendy’s at 10 p.m. for their annual postseason “cheer-me-up” after losing 56-35 to the No. 1-seeded Delhi Bulldogs in the quarterfinals of the Class D sectional tournament on Saturday, Feb. 24. Trying to make it home before midnight would be difficult, but the team was able to reflect on its season which, by no means, could be considered unsuccessful for the Trojans. In fact, the team’s first round 53-22 thrashing of Morris in the first round of the tournament was the first sectional win for everyone on the roster.
