Sheriff Virts: Three arrests made, more coming after contraband investigation at Wayne County Jail

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says three people were arrested after an investigation into promoting prison contraband at the Wayne County Jail.

Roger Austin, 32, who is an inmate at the jail; Derek M. Westfall, 27, of Batavia; and Molly J. Griffis, 26, of Batavia were all arrested after two of them dropped contraband in an outside location at the Wayne County Jail for the third to pick up.

Westfall and Griffis are accused of dropping the contraband for Austin to bring back into the jail.

The three were arraigned in Lyons Town Court.

Other arrests in this case are coming, according to Sheriff Virts.
