Police say only one person was injured in an accident that tied up traffic at a busy intersection near Walmart in Seneca Falls on Monday.
Around 1:00 p.m. members of the Seneca Falls Police Department were called to the report of a two-car personal injury accident at the intersection of State Route 414 and North Road.
Upon arrival officers learned that Mildred Hayes, of Seneca Falls was traveling west on Balsley Road crossing the intersection of State Route 414 when she failed to stop for a red signal light.
Police say she struck a southbound vehicle on State Route 414 operated by Karen Landuyt, of Clifton Springs.
As result of the collision, both vehicles suffered extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Landuyt complained of hand pain and was treated at the scene.
Seneca Falls Police were assisted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and North Seneca Ambulance.
