Clyde man turns himself in after lengthy burglary investigation in Auburn

Police in Auburn have charged a 39-year-old Clyde resident after a lengthy investigation into a burglary at Auburn Chainsaw & Mower.

The burglary took place on May 24th, 2017 when Danny Hollier, of Clyde allegedly forced entry into the business and stole numerous pieces of merchandise.

A short time after the burglary Hollier was involved in a high speed pursuit with New York State Police, which ended with Hollier abandoning a stolen pickup truck behind the Weedsport High School.

The stolen property from the burglary was located inside the bed of the truck, according to police.

Auburn PD say that the investigation resulted in a DNA match linking Hollier to the burglary. After consulting with his attorney and the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office — Hollier agreed to turn himself in to law enforcement.

He was charged with third-degree burglary and arraigned in Auburn City Court.
