Deputies: Waterloo man gave false ID at traffic stop, charged with impersonation

Deputies in Ontario County arrested a Waterloo man following a traffic stop on State Route 96 after providing authorities with a false identity.

Paul J. Kesterson, 29, of Waterloo was charged with criminal impersonation after the traffic stop in Phelps where he provided an identity, which law enforcement knew not to be accurate.

He was also issued a traffic citation for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

He was committed to the Ontario County Jail for pre-arraignment detention, according to deputies.

All of the charges will be answered at a later date.
