Hammondsport man charged with child endangerment after incident at school

Steuben County Sheriff, Jim Allard, reports that on Monday deputies arrested a Hammondsport man on child endangerment charges after an incident this week.

Joseph M. Rago, 19, of was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Harassment in the Second Degree, a Violation.

It is alleged that Rago had unwanted contact with a person under the age of seventeen, which occurred at the Hammondsport Central School in the Village of Hammondsport. 

He was arraigned in the Town of Urbana Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Urbana Town Court on February 26th.
