Canandaigua restaurant rebuilding begins after fire

Work has started on the new Nolan’s restaurant.

The popular eatery, which opened at the South Main Street site near Canandaigua Lake in May 2014, was destroyed by fire last July. Investigators deteremined the cause was accidental.

A revised building plan was approved by the city last week, which calls for reducing the footprint of the new structure but allowing for more greenspace. The owners remain hopeful the new eatery will be open in time for the season this year.
