Representatives from the city of Auburn, the Harriet Tubman Downtown Memorial Committee and the Auburn Public Theater are continuing their efforts to further coordinate arts and culture programs in the city.
Auburn Senior Planner Renee Jensen, Harriet Tubman Downtown Memorial Committee Chair Debra Brillati and APT staff members Janie MicGlire and Paula Kinev were part of the public art panel discussion that took place during the monthly Wednesday Morning Roundtable in Auburn. Former Auburn mayor and Cayuga County Community College Foundation Executive Director Guy Cosentino moderated the discussion.
Jensen discussed the city's new public arts ordinance, which was created to streamline the installation of art on public property in Auburn. The ordinance was developed by a committee of city staff, artists and representatives from the Auburn Beautification Commission and the Downtown Business Improvement District.
