Supervisors urged to protect Three Bears complex in Ovid

In Ovid, the “Three Bears” are coming out of winter hibernation.

In January, County Manager John Sheppard suggested the Seneca County Board of Supervisors at least think about the future of the historic “Three Bears” county building complex in downtown Ovid.

He said the buildings are not used for county purposes anymore, save a single Board of Supervisors meeting a year, and the cost of maintaining the aging buildings is increasing.

Tuesday, several people showed up to address the board on the Three Bears, appealing for the county to not sell or demolish the buildings and do all it can to preserve them as a historic treasure.
