Yates County is getting nearly $540,000 in state funding to enhance its 911 system.
The funding was announced in a news release from state Sen. Tom O’Mara, whose 58th District includes Yates County and several counties in the Southern Tier. Counties across the state were awarded more than $45 million to do infrastructure, equipment and technology upgrades to their emergency communications systems.
