The Seneca Falls Development Corporation (SFDC) has published the outline of 2017 Accomplishments and 2018 Initiatives that was presented during its Community Workshop on January 25th.

Some of the highlighted accomplishments of 2017 include a completed rebranding effort, the launch of a new website, an updated Economic Development Findings Report, the creation of a Town Marketing Package, the organization of Community Workshops, Seneca Falls Farmers Market expansion, and more.
Current efforts carrying over from 2017 include SFDC University, which will provide free On-Demand social media marketing lessons for Seneca Falls business owners, 2020 Celebration planning, the updating of the 2006 Seneca Falls Comprehensive Plan, and the redrafting of the 2007 Seneca Falls Economic Development Plan.
Looking ahead in 2018, the SFDC also outlined some of its initiatives for the coming year, including the adoption of the 2018 Seneca Falls Economic Development Plan, advocacy for improved Planning/Zoning/Historical procedures, grant writing pursuits, expanded website and social media reach, and the ongoing cultivation of the 2020 “19th Amendment” Celebration.
The next SFDC meeting will be held at 5pm on February 22nd at Generations Bank Headquarters, which is located at 20 East Bayard Street. Following this meeting, the SFDC will be holding another Community Workshop for business owners and residents from 6pm to 7:30pm to discuss how the SFDC can assist local businesses with marketing themselves.
The SFDC, formed in 2007 as an arm of the Seneca Falls Town Council, is committed to economic and community development within the Town of Seneca Falls. Through the planning and implementation of programs, projects, and activities that encourage growth and improvement, the SFDC works to stimulate the local economy, boost the Town’s visibility, and improve residential and commercial appeal.
