Deputies: Duo had cocaine, pills, and machete during traffic stop in Tyre

Deputies say a pair of arrests were made after a traffic stop in Tyre.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that the driver — identified as 63-year-old Steve Clary — was found to be in possession of cocaine, as well as a machete. Deputies also discovered the passenger — identified as 48-year-old Deann Joll — possessed cocaine, and various prescription pills.

When asked to identify herself, Joll provided a false name. She was subsequently found to be wanted in the City of Rochester.

Meanwhile, Clary was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The weapon charge is a Class D felony, according to Sheriff Tim Luce.

Joll was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal impersonation.

Both were arraigned in Tyre Town Court. Joll was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail. Clary was released on his own recognizance. The charges will be answered at a later date in Tyre Town Court.
