Seneca Falls man will have to repay $107K after filing false tax returns

According to federal court officials, a Seneca Falls man will have to pay more than a hundred thousand dollars in restitution to the IRS after being sentenced for filing false tax returns.

James LaRock, 43, of Seneca Falls pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return before the U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa in 2017.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany H. Lee, who handled the case said that for the tax years from 2010 to 2013 โ€” LaRock, who was self-employed โ€” filed false personal income tax returns.



In all prosecutors said he omitted approximately $280,470 in taxable income โ€” resulting in a loss of more than $107,749 to the IRS.

He was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay the $107,749 lost through the false returns.
