Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce says a Waterloo duo was arrested on multiple charges after a Fentanyl trafficking investigation concluded with a traffic stop on Route 96 in Waterloo.
Mark P. Pontius, 54, and Kristie L. Pontius, 42, both of Waterloo were taken into custody after the traffic stop. During the stop — deputies located and seized multiple baggies of suspected Fentanyl.
It is further alleged that Kristie L. Pontius had been selling Fentanyl from her residence while two children resided inside the home. She was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance — Class B felonies, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance — a Class B felony, first-degree criminal nuisance — a Class E felony, two counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
She is also charged with one count of prostitution stemming from a separate incident where she allegedly engaged in a sexual act in exchange for money, according to Luce.
Mark Pontius was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance — a Class B felony, first-degree criminal nuisance — a Class E felony, unlawfully dealing with a child, and aggravated unlicensed operation.
Both were arraigned in Tyre Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 secured bond.
Both will have to reappear in Tyre Town Court on February 12th for further action.
Luce says his investigators were assisted by members of the Road Patrol Division, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, Seneca County Probation and Seneca County Child Protective Services.
