Five more accused of seeking a prostitute in Canandaigua

Five more arrests were announced by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office after a joint-investigation into prostitution in Canandaigua.

Two other individuals were arrested as part of the same investigation, according to members of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, which were announced late-last week.

Those most-recently charged were Robert J. Cox, 34, of Rochester; Thomas P. Everetts, 51, of Livonia; Carrie Magee, 39, of Bellona; Christopher J. Simmons, 32, of Bellona; and Benjamin C. McMinn, 32, of Penn Yan.

Investigators say Cox was charged with third-degree patronizing a person for prostitution after it was revealed that he offered a female cash in exchange for a promise to engage in a sexual act.

They say Everetts was also arrested on the same charge after a similar offer was made to a female in exchange for a promise to engage in a sexual act.

Both were issued appearance tickets and released.

Simmons, Magee and McMinn were all arrested and charged with patronizing a prostitute in the third degree. These three arrived together and offered a female cash in exchange for a promise to engage in sexual conduct as a group, according to investigators.

Magee was found to be possessing cocaine and she was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The trio were released and will answer the charges at a later date.
