Eminent domain part of Seneca Falls Town Board agenda

Though not on Tuesday’s meeting agenda, the Town Board will receive an update on its wish to pursue eminent domain as part of an upgrade to its sewer line.

Town Attorney David Foster said he will provide the update while giving his monthly report.

The town wants to install a larger sewer line along part of the Ludovico Sculpture Trail, which is on the south side of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal. Foster said town officials must decide, after a public hearing tentatively set for March, whether it wants to initiate the legal proceeding under eminent domain to allow a new sewer line to be placed under the trail. The larger line would be part of a Route 414 sewer upgrade designed to accommodate increased flow from the town of Tyre, and del Lago Resort & Casino in particular, coming down an existing sewer line to the Kingdom Road pump station.
