Auburn Comptroller Laura Wills resigns; city begins search for replacement

A search is underway to replace Auburn Comptroller Laura Wills. City Manager Jeff Dygert announced Thursday that Wills will be leaving her position with the city "on very good terms" for a job closer to her home at the FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant in Oswego County.

Wills, a certified public accountant, began her tenure with the city in February 2014, after six years at the Syracuse accounting firm Grossman St. Amour, where she had experience as a municipal auditor. Many city officials credit her with helping the city rebound from a multi-million dollar budget deficit it faced during the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

"I have enjoyed my time working with the city I wish everyone here the best," Wills said Monday.
