It’ll be a mix of sun and cloud on Thursday with warmer temperatures spreading throughout the Finger Lakes. It’ll be a nice change for some — who were sent back into winter shock over the early-week cold-and-snow.
Forecasters say the high on Thursday will be in the mid-40s. Winds out of the southwest will make it feel slightly cooler, but no matter where you are — it’ll still feel like temperatures are above freezing.
Change will be coming Thursday night, as gusty northwesterly winds kick up following the passage of a cold front. While some places may see 1 to 4 inches of snowfall overnight — especially those locations in the Eastern Finger Lakes, or Central New York — the most-noticeable change will be temperature.
Temperatures on Friday will hover in the low- to mid-teens. Wind chills will be as low as -5, with additional snowfall possible for some. Note here that the entire region will not see measurable snowfall.
Lake effect snow is expected to remain scattered throughout the weekend.

Cold front will move through the area this evening with a few snow squalls possible. Snow squalls could drop the visibility down to a half mile. Temperatures will drop rapidly with the front and possibly cause untreated roads to ice up. Be prepared for winter driving conditions. pic.twitter.com/xYfbqXCoyv
