Deputies: Drug charge for Manchester man following traffic stop

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Manchester man following a traffic stop in the Town of Lyons.

Deputies say 34-year-old Edward J. Monroe was stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign. During the traffic stop, deputies say that they discovered he was in possession of Oxycodone, which was not prescribed to him.

Monroe was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Monroe was released and will appear before the Lyons Town court at a later date to answer the charges.
