Sheriff: Farmington man had several doses of Fentanyl during stop, leads to felony drug charge

A Farmington man is accused of possessing several doses of Fentanyl after a stop on Route 490 on January 18th by investigators in Ontario County.

According to deputies the traffic stop happened around 10:30 pm and through the course of a subsequent investigation, Zachary M. Truax, 29, of Farmington was found to be possessing Fentanyl, with the intent to sell it.



He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 secured bond.

The arrest was the result of a joint-investigation between the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and the Canandaigua Police Department.
