Not too late for flu shots

Following what state officials are calling a “drastic” rise in flu cases throughout New York, local public health directors say it’s not too late to get vaccinated.

According to the state Department of Health, influenza cases rose by 54 percent and new cases were diagnosed in all counties over the past week. More than 1,600 New Yorkers have been hospitalized with lab-confirmed influenza during that time, the highest weekly number since Department of Health reporting began in 2004.
