Walworth man threatens violence at del Lago, arrested on felony charge

Troopers say a Walworth man faces a felony charge of making a terroristic threat, after being arrested on a trespassing charge at the del Lago Resort & Casino in Tyre.

Scott C. Furey, 47, of Walworth was found sleeping on a couch in the lobby of del Lago, which prompted the arrest. He had previously been banned from the facility, following an investigation into fraudulent gaming activities, according to police.

Furey was taken to state police headquarters in Waterloo where he made verbal threats to return to del Lago and commit acts of violence in retaliation for his arrest.

Furey was thus charged with making a terroristic threat, a Class D felony, in addition to the misdemeanor trespassing charge he was already arrested on.

He was remanded to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 secured bond.
