Pedestrian hit by snowplow in Victory ID’d, was intoxicated at time of accident

State Police have released additional information about the accident involving a snowplow and pedestrian.

According to the Auburn Citizen, the incident was reported around 4:30 am in the Town of Victory. State Police say that David P. Goodman, 37, of Port Byron was walking eastbound on the shoulder of Route 370 when he was hit by a snowplow.



The snowplow was operated by Reiner A. Rice, 53, of Meridian. The pedestrian was taken to Auburn Community Hospital, then transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

The Citizen also reports that on Monday, Goodman was said to have been intoxicated at the time of the accident. There’s no indication at this time why he was in the roadway.

No charges have been filed.
