Get ready for a warming trend.
High temperatures on Monday will cruise through the 30s, and even with the chance of some snowfall during the late-morning and early-afternoon hours — it won’t be able to take away from the upward movement taking place this week.
After one of the coldest weekends in local memory, temperatures will move up through the 40s this week — and reach the low-50s by Thursday.
FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil says that any precipitation seen in the region on Monday will remain light, with a brief burst of lake effect snow developing during the evening — or overnight hours for most of the area.
The end of the week will be active, according to Montreuil, who noted that an active weather pattern will overtake the region. That will include much warmer temperatures, the threat of possibly heavy rain, and even the outside possibility for some thunder.
