State Police say a Newark man had a BAC more than three times the legal limit after a crash at the intersection of North Creek and South Creek roads in Palmyra on Dec. 30.
John R. Malta, 34, of Newark was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to keep right and speeding.
According to state police, he provided a breath sample of .26 percent following the crash in Palmyra. He was placed under arrest and taken into custody without incident.
Malta was arraigned in Palmyra Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 secured bond.
He’ll answer the charges on Jan. 9, 2018.
