Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports the arrest of a 37-year-old Bath man following the violation of an order of protection.
Deputies say Michael H. Ellis, 37, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. He is currently being held at the Steuben County Jail on another offense, but while incarcerated — violated the order of protection by sending a letter to the protected party.
He was arraigned in Campbell Town Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
