Clyde-Savannah bounces back; Midlakes girls are 10-0 (W-FL round-up 12/30)

The Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles were back on the court Saturday, just two days after a tough 1-point loss to Mynderse at the New York Chiropractic College. The Golden Eagles hosted Section 3’s Fowler High and emerged with a 83-79 win. Dru Carnevale scored 30 points, Derrick Chance had 23 and Marcus Chance had 18 points.

Also on Saturday, the Midlakes Screaming Eagles also bounced back from a loss at NYCC to Lyons. Pete Czerkas’ Midlakes varsity boys squad was at Wells College to take on Groton and came away with a 60-40 win. Bryce Burri scored 21 points to go with 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Devin Hicks scored 13 points and Trevor Milliman scored 8 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

In the only game on Saturday involving W-FL girls teams, #1 ranked Midlakes moved to 10-0 with a win on the road at Gananda, 59-52. Alaina Forbes scored 24 points, freshman Cara Walker scored 19 and Claire DeBoover scored 12. Midlakes remains unbeaten and stands at 10-0 heading into 2018.
