Learn about Geneva city finances at Citizens Budget Academy

Learning about city budgeting might seem like some pretty dry stuff, but those who took part in the first Citizen Budget Academy last year said they found it fun and informative.

A new one is set to begin early in the New Year.

The Citizen Budget Academy, part of the three-academy series sponsored by the Mayoral Institute of Civic Engagement, will be held on Mondays starting on Feb. 5 and ending March 19. The only exception is Feb. 19, due to the President’s Day holiday.

Academy sessions, run by Comptroller Adam Blowers, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Geneva Housing Authority, 41 Lewis St.

Blowers said he received positive feedback from attendees and is excited to get ready for the upcoming cohort in 2018.
