Former state Sen. Michael Nozzolio will be among the honorees next month at the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce's 50th annual dinner meeting in Geneva.
Nozzolio, who represented the Finger Lakes region in the state Legislature for more than three decades, will receive the chamber's Lifetime Achievement Award at the event.
The award, which is sponsored by MRB Group, will recognize Nozzolio for being a "tireless advocate for jobs and economic development in our community."
"His contributions led to growth of the local wine industry, creation of both the Finger Lakes Institute and the Institute of Food Safety," the chamber wrote in a news release. "He was also instrumental in the establishment of the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery."
