Mike Krauza’s Red Creek Rams will face Mynderse on Thursday at NYCC in Seneca Falls. The Lady Rams were looking to be undefeated heading into the matchup with Mynderse. On Wednesday night, however, Marion had other plans as they hosted, and defeated Red Creek 60-50. Marion held Red Creek’s top two scorers, Isabella Wilbur and Alex Mosqueda to just 12 points each on the evening. The Marion win puts Gananda atop the Wayne County standings heading into 2018.
In the Finger Lakes West, Naples travelled to Ovid to face South Seneca and came away with a 54-50 win behind Haylea Langan’s 25 rebounds. Langan also scored 15 points in the win while teammate Autumn Kunes scored 13 and Sarah Glovine had 10 points and 13 rebounds. South Seneca was led by Jade Parsons and Skylar Shaulis with 14 points each. The loss drops South Seneca to 3-3 on the season and was their second league loss. Naples improved to 5-3.
The only other W-FL girls game on Wednesday night had Penn Yan defeating Bath-Haverling 50-47 on the road. The Lady Mustangs improve to 5-3.

Logan Blankenberg exploded for 44 points in Wayne’s win over Greece-Olympia in the opening round of the Wayne Holiday Tournament in Ontario on Wednesday night. Wayne was leading 42-34 at halftime. Their lead was cut to 2 in the third period before the Eagles ran away to secure the win.
