Ontario woman hospitalized after crash on Rt. 104

The Sheriff’s Office says a Wayne County woman was sent to the hospital after a two-car crash on State Route 104 and Knickerbocker Road.

Deputies say Diane Howell, 66, of Ontario was westbound on Route 104 approaching the intersection of Knickerbocker Road when she attempted to make a left turn. She proceeded into the intersection to make the turn, and did so unsafely, according to deputies.

Howell’s vehicle then struck another vehicle, which was operated by Karen Olderstein, 60, of Williamson. The two vehicles collided and Howell was injured as result.

The 66-year-old driver was ticketed at Geneva General Hospital for failure to yield the right of way, and moving from lane unsafely.

The Ontario Fire Department and Ontario Ambulance both assisted at the scene.
