The weather will be mostly calm until we get to the weekend in the Finger Lakes.
Forecasters are split on what the weekend and Christmas Day will look like. While some of the national weather services are offering higher-likelihood of a white Christmas, local forecasters are remaining cautious.
FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil said that two systems will impact our weather to some degree. The first will be a warm front that will lift through the area later Friday. Out ahead of this front, precipitation will break out early Friday as an area of snow and possibly some icy mixed precipitation.
Another system will impact the region on Christmas Day, Monday. Cold air should be plentiful to keep any precipitation snow, but how much falls remains nothing but speculation at this point.
