Deputies: Ithaca man stole parts from Covert business, scrapped them for cash

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 18th at approximately 11:54 am investigators arrested a 28-year-old Ithaca resident on charges related to a grand larceny investigation.

Deputies arrested Corey D. Griffen, 28, of Ithaca for third-degree grand larceny, which is a Class D felony.

Griffen is accused of stealing more than $6,400.00 worth of auto parts from a Town of Covert business and scrapped them in the City of Ithaca on multiple dates.

Griffen was arraigned before the Town of Tyre Court and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.

He will answer the charges in the Town of Covert Court at a later date.
