Midlakes girls beat Mynderse in Seneca Falls (W-FL round-up 12/16)

With Midlakes stand-out Alaina Forbes saddled with early foul trouble, Mynderse opened up a 24-19 halftime lead in the key early season Finger Lakes East contest in Seneca Falls on Saturday. Forbes and Midlakes would come back and take a 40-39 lead with just over a minute left in the game. Mynderse would have a chance to take the lead on an inbound play underneath their own basket with 30 seconds left but it would end in a jump-ball situation with the arrow pointing to Midlakes. The Screaming Eagles would hold on 43-29 victory. Midlakes held Mynderse to just 15 second half point.

There was just one game on Saturday involving W-FL teams as Lyons would win at Red Creek, 68-45. Justice Smith led Lyons with 23 points. David Weaver scored 12 and Kerel Kelly scored 9. For Red Creek, Dan Smith scored 13 and Jack Smith scored 12.
