Two Genevans earn Girl Scouts’ highest achievement

Crystal Bulger and Sarah Conner graduated from Geneva High School earlier this year. They began their college journeys a couple of months later — Crystal at Finger Lakes Community College, Sarah at Rochester Institute of Technology.

The Geneva natives started their post-high school lives with a distinction few young women accomplish.

Not only have both 18-year-olds given back to their community through their association with Girls Scouts, they earned Gold Awards, the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve. They were recognized for their accomplishment during the NYPENN Pathways Young Women of Distinction banquet held in October at Orchard Vali Golf Club in Lafayette.

According to the organization, fewer than 6 percent of Girl Scouts earn Gold Awards each year.
