The Ontario County Tourism Bureau is now in charge of promoting the new Rochester Finger Lakes Craft Beverage Trail.
The bureau has taken over the trail promotion after the Rochester Craft Beverage Trail experienced some problems. The trail has expanded to include 17 craft beverage makers, including breweries, cideries and distilleries in the Monroe, Ontario and Wayne county areas.
The bureau already serves as promotion agency for the Canandaigua Wine Trail, which includes nine wineries.
Valerie Knoblauch, director of the Ontario County Tourism Bureau, explained the new arrangement at Monday’s Board of Supervisors Planning and Environmental Quality Committee meeting.
“We have incorporated into a 501(c)3 business and we have secured a grant from the New York Wine Grape Foundation to help in our efforts,” Knoblauch reported.
