The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Sodus man for making a false written statement following an incident earlier this year.
The arrest followed an investigation into an incident that occurred on April 7th, 2017 that took place in Sodus.
Deputies say that Dion A. Brown, 38 of Newark Street, was a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped. The driver fled on foot, and Brown signed a statement identifying the driver.
Upon further investigation it was determined that the subject, whom Brown stated was the driver, was incarcerated in Florida at the time of the incident.
Brown was charged with Making a punishable false written statement and released on an appearance ticket.
He will appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
