Many in the Marion community are mourning the loss of two brothers killed in a crash Monday evening.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said 20-year-old Taylor Christie was driving on Ridge Chapel Road in Marion when he lost control of the car and hit a tree. His 16-year-old brother, Evan Woodward, was also in the car. Both died at the scene.
On Tuesday, dozens stopped by the crash scene, leaving candles and messages of support for the family.
Woodward’s girlfriend, Taylor Malchoff, was wearing his soccer jacket when she stopped at the scene.
“He was such a kind boy. He always there for me whenever I needed him,” said Malchoff. “I was lost for words. It was unreal.”
Woodward was a junior at Marion High School. Christie graduated in 2015.
