A pair of step-siblings are dead after a crash Monday evening, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
The wreck happened when Taylor Christie, 21, of Marion was operating his vehicle south on Ridge Chapel Rd. His 16-year-old step-brother – identified as Evan Woodward, was the passenger in the vehicle, according to deputies.

Investigators say that Christie lost control of his vehicle, went off the roadway and struck a tree.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies. New York State Police, the Marion Fire Department, Marion Ambulance, East Williamson Fire Department Wayne County Advanced Life Support, Macedon Ambulance, Walworth Ambulance, and Walworth Fire Department all assisted at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
This is the second fatal crash in 24-hours in Marion. Another driver died in an overnight crash when a vehicle left the roadway, flipped, and landed submerged in a creek.
