The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for heavy snowfall, which is active for Northern Cayuga and Onondaga counties until 6 pm on Monday.
With winds gusting as high as 40 mph it won’t only be the 5 to 10 inches of forecasted snowfall for these parts – but the possibility of blowing and drafting, too.

The snowfall will likely complicate the Monday morning commute for some in the region, especially those heading east.
For everyone else, the weather is expected to improve throughout the night and into the day on Monday. By late-afternoon, the sun will be out and temperatures will be back into the upper-30s.
The weather trend will continue positive through most of the week for the Finger Lakes. Stay tuned to FL1 for the latest, but at this point, travel conditions throughout the region this week look favorable.
