Newark man becomes third felony arrest in daycare, heroin sale investigation

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts reports that the Narcotics Enforcement team arrested a Newark man following a months-long investigation into the sale of heroin at a licensed daycare in the Town of Arcadia.

Virts says Darrell L. Williams, 33, of Newark was arrested after his girlfriend Erin M. Siler, 34, and Sheila M. Detaeye, 53, were convicted on felony drug sale charges from their Arcadia home, which operated as a daycare.

According to authorities, Detaeye is Siler’s mother – and the duo sold heroin from the home in Arcadia.

Williams is accused of allowing the sales of narcotic drugs – including heroin – to take place inside his home where the mother-daughter duo operated a daycare and sold drugs.

Authorities say that drug sales took place in the presence of children – ages 7- and 3-years-old.

Williams was charged with first-degree criminal nuisance and two counts of unlawfully dealing with a child. He was also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to Virts.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by WayneNET and the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
