Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts reports the arrest of a Galen teen following an incident where she allegedly struck her ex-boyfriend with a metal broom handle in the face.
Deputies say Mariah A. Luyando, 18, of Galen had a verbal argument with her ex-boyfriend, and during the incident she became violent and struck him in the face with a broom handle.
She was charged with second-degree harassment, endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree assault. The entire incident took place in front of her 7-month-old son.
She was released but will answer the charges at a later date.
