Two men looking to open a puppy-selling business in Yates County have withdrawn their permit applications, town officials say, after opposition from the community.
A petition circulating online said one of the men trying to open the business is a convicted animal abuser and had a business shut down in Pennsylvania.
A meeting was set for Tuesday night to consider the permit to allow the man to sell puppies from a home in the Town of Barrington. But in a statement on Tuesday, town officials said: “The two applicants John Sensenig and Wayne Sensenig withdrew their applications.”
