The village of Van Etten’s highly anticipated referendum on whether or not to dissolve the village, originally scheduled next Monday, is now rescheduled until Dec. 11.
The village board held a special session Thursday night to announce the change after a resident called to their attention this week that New York state law requires governments to advertise referendum votes for four weeks before they can be held. The village had only advertised the referendum’s date for three weeks.
