Senior midfielder Nick Parkes guaranteed his name will forever be remembered at Lansing High School early Sunday afternoon, when his goal in sudden-victory overtime gave the Bobcats their first state championship in boys soccer.
Immediately after he lifted his team a 2-1 victory over Byron-Bergen/Elba in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C final at Middletown High School, Parkes was thinking of another Lansing name that will never be forgotten: Adam Heck.
