Multiple departments responded to a barn fire in Cayuga County, which was called in a little before 2 pm on Saturday.
Port Byron, Weedsport, Throop, Jordan, Sennett, and Conquest fire departments were called to the scene, which was on O’Neil Rd.
First responders who initially arrived to the scene confirmed the barn fire to dispatch, who requested a second alarm. Aurelius RIT was also called to the scene, along with multiple engines and tanker trucks. Cato and Victory fire departments were also called to the scene.
Cayuga and Owasco were called to cover area units as crews fought the fire.
First responders also said that after a short time on the ground fighting the fire, part of the barn began to cave in.
Around 4 pm the fire was out and overhaul was in progress. The investigation team had arrived and was beginning the process, according to first responders.
A working structure fire was confirmed by first responders at the scene.
