Showers will taper, giving way to warm Thursday afternoon

Forecasters say the next 24 hours will be a shift for many, who have gotten used to the cool, fall-like temperatures.

As the rain pulls out during the early-afternoon hours, temperatures will rise into the 60s — making it feel like early-fall, rather than late-fall.

On Friday a cold front will move through the region sending temperatures back down to more-seasonable levels.

The up-and-down nature of temperatures over the next several days will continue, as FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil reported on Thursday:

“Winds will continue to be gusty until the front moves through. Behind the front, winds will be lighter for the late morning and afternoon.

Temperatures will start the day in the upper 50s but will fall back into the low 50s with the frontal passage. Most of the afternoon will be spent in the low 50s before temperatures start to drop with the setting sun.

Skies will start to clear Friday evening, sending temperatures dropping back into the upper 30s by Saturday morning.

The weather will then go through this entire cycle again, with rain Saturday night, followed by a warm surge Sunday into Monday, and finally another cold front later Monday that will send temperatures back down for much of next week.”
