The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced the investigation of a one-car personal injury incident, which took place on South St. in Sodus.
Sheriff Virts reports that Douglas Lanning, 48, of Palmyra was operating a K&D Garbage Disposal truck heading north on South St. in Sodus when he allegedly was pushed by a strong gust of wind into the east shoulder of the road.
Deputies say the wet ground pulled the vehicle further into the ditch, which made the truck’s wheels sink further into the ditch and ultimately overturn.
Lanning was assisted in exiting the vehicle, according to deputies, and was ultimately transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of side injuries.
